HarrisonFamilyBrett & Christie Harrison - Brett Harrison grew up at Westgate and we cannot be more pleased to claim him and his family as our own. Brett left Dothan like many young and talented people his age to attend Auburn University and pursue an architectural degree. However, God had different plans for him and called him in a very different direction. Today, Brett along with his lovely wife Christie (who Brett met on the mission field in China) serve God alongside their two daughters, Baylor and Harper in Geita, Tanzania. Westgate is a very proud sponsor of this long term mission work. We invite you to read about the Harrison's ministry by checking out Brett's blog. The Korean Bible School in Seoul, South Korea ministers to a nation that can boast in the rapid growth of the body of Christ.  Korea is now sending missionaries to the United States (the fourth largest unchurched population in the world).  The Korean Bible School offers online Bible correspondence, an extension site for the Sunset International Bible Institute (SIBI), and broadcasts Christian programing throughout the nation of South Korea.  Bill Ramsey of Murfressboro, TN began the correspondence program in 1963 and coordinates this work under the oversight of the Northside Church of Christ in Jeffersonville, IN.  The overwhelming response to the correspondence program led to the establishment of the SIBI campus known as Korea Christian College.  Most of the classes are taught by Korean ministers and a few are taught by Americans using translators. E-Mail BillClick here for cultural and travel information on South Korea.

Short-term and Medical Missions

Several Westgate family members participate in short-term missions that assist our existing mission points or other missions not financially supported by our church.  Medical professionals, construction teams, and Bible teachers have all served with our full time missionaries in the field to provide skills that are not readily available in developing countries and to show support for our missionaries on site.  If you have some interest in this ministry we encourage you to participate with our missions committee.  John Brolund leads this committee and they meet monthly to pray for and review ongoing work and map out future plans.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
